Bita Mortazavi is Vice President of Patent Analysis at RPX Corporation. She leads Patent Analysis operations and oversees a team of experts responsible for conducting technical analysis of both pre- and post-litigation matters. In her role, she leverages deep technical insight and a strong understanding of clients’ business goals and risk profiles to set strategic direction for Patent Analysis and manage complex client engagements. She has deep expertise in wireless technologies, particularly in cellular and Wi-Fi systems, with specialized knowledge of standard-essential patents. In addition to her leadership in Patent Analysis, Bita is helping to expand RPX’s business into the Medical Technology sector, leveraging her technical and strategic IP experience.
Prior to joining RPX in 2012, Ms. Mortazavi spent nearly eight years at Verizon Wireless in New Jersey, where she held several technical roles. Early in her tenure, she optimized the performance of platforms and infrastructure supporting nationwide data coverage. She later defined device certification requirements for OEMs seeking access to Verizon’s cellular network. In her final role as a Senior Solutions Architect, she designed and developed enterprise data services built on Verizon’s 3G and 4G LTE networks. Through these assignments, she developed a comprehensive understanding of cellular connectivity and collaborated closely with leading infrastructure and device manufacturers in the wireless industry.
Bita Mortazavi received her MS in Computer Science and Engineering from Pennsylvania State University and her BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Tehran. She is a registered patent agent before the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office.
