Dr. Keith O’Doherty is a multidisciplinary IP lawyer. Keith began his career as a scientist working in nanotechnology at UCLA, studying novel physical and biological systems. Following law school, he worked in private practice for 11 years on a wide range of IP matters including IP litigation, patent prosecution management, and freedom to operate analysis. During this time, Keith took a break from private practice to clerk for Judge Jimmie Reyna at the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. For the last 6 years, Keith has worked in the Technology Solutions business of Merck Animal Health where his responsibilities include IP onboarding and integration of new acquisitions, patent portfolio management, due diligence, IP licensing and agreements, IP risk mitigation, and dispute resolution including litigation and patent oppositions. As a technology-focused lawyer working in a biopharmaceutical company, Keith continues to enjoy assisting clients with varied IP topics.
